Colour Association: Exercises

Colourful Image

The following exercises come under the heading ‘Colour Associations’. To expand our mediumship ability it’s useful for those working with us from the spirit world to have a bank of symbols and references they can use to communicate with you.

This exercise will help us expand that bank of references that the other side may want to call upon during our connection with them.

There are no fixed answers to these exercises. It’s your choice, and you may change your decisions at any time. you like. It might benefit you to write a reason why you made each choice. It could be based on a memory or a reason for choosing the colour. For example, you might choose white for December, because of the snow and the phrase ‘white Christmas’.

We all have favourite places we love to go, and equally, other places we don’t like. Compile your own list of regions/locations/countries etc where you always associate a colour or colours.

For example: Forest of Dean – Dark Green/Light Brown | The South Coast of England – Orange/Yellow | Lanzarote – Blue/Light Grey

You can include examples such as, NORTH OF ENGLAND, SCOTLAND, WALES, IRELAND, CORNWALL, DEVON, SPAIN, FRANCE, SWITZERLAND, NORWAY

EXERCISE 6: MY FLOWERS IN COLOURS

This is a simple exercise to complete. Everyone has a favourite flower. So for this exercise, what flowers would you associate with the following colours?

  • RED
  • BLUE
  • YELLOW
  • ORANGE
  • GREEN
  • PURPLE
  • CRIMSON
  • LIME
  • SILVER
  • GOLD
  • BROWN
  • WHITE
  • BLACK

There are so many other areas of your life that could be associated with particular colours. Write them in your journal and include a reason why. Learn to ask people what their favourite colours are. You’d be surprised that when you compare their colour with your lists, you’ll often get clues about other aspects of their life. For example, what would someone choosing their favourite colour as Yellow suggest to you?

“Your favourite colour is yellow. For me, that’s associated with my favourite season of Spring. Is that true for you too?”

“Would you consider yourself as youthful in mind?”

“You enjoy learning new skills and crafts?”

You should see from those example questions above that a whole area of questioning and possibilities can be explored just from someone’s choice of favourite colour. Combined with your intuition, you might learn to attune to their energy and discover why this colour means something to them.

This exercise can also be used with other examples, such as numbers, songs, and even tarot cards.

Exercises, such as these, help enrich our bank of tools we can use in our psychic and mediumship unfoldment. Take the time to explore these exercises for yourself and use your journal to record the results. You’ll be amazed at how exciting it is.
