FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION

PREAMBLE

|| This summary originally written on 24th October 2023

One aspect of our work with mediumship that we all tend to forget is about is the intelligence of the person in spirit that we’re connecting to. It’s worthwhile reminding ourselves that when we pass to the other side we aren’t going to suddenly be all-knowing.

Although we will have immediate awareness of there actually being a continuation of life and how it affects us, our general knowledge is going to remain the same as it was when we passed over from Earth.

I have found this to be true in many of my inspired writing sessions. The facts or opinions often disclosed in the speaker’s words can frequently be their own opinions and, at the very least, somewhat questionable.

Their knowledge of mediumship is less questionable. Obviously, from their point in their journey, they know a lot more than we here and far more than they knew when they were residing on the planet as carnate people.

In today’s session, the speaker opens with some dubious facts regarding the chosen topic. When I transcribing the words, I recall allowing a bit of my mind to question what they were asking me to write.

The sentiment of today’s message is strong and powerful, and it offers interesting and powerful guidance for our lives. We should take that from the session and not be distracted by some of the doubtful opening statements.

Of course, as always, you should make your own mind up!

POST SCRIPT
  • This speaker impressed me to write a name at the beginning of the session. (You’ll see that in the original notes). Though I haven’t done extensive research on the name, a brief search on the internet reveals nothing relating to the name, or parts of the name regarding mediumship.

THE WFSIW SESSION

Session transcribed on Tuesday 19th September 2023 at 3:30 pm

The freedom of expression is a faculty that all living matter on the planet has access to. The freedom to make choices in every aspect of the life that it has. A plant can choose how it grows and where it clings to. A cat or a dog can choose how they want to react at any given moment. Mankind can choose any expression of life they want and believes suits them most best.

A freedom of expression can be found in many aspects of an individual's life, from the colour he or she chooses to paint their walls, to the way the person chooses to view the wider world.

Everybody and every living thing is free to make and show their own expression, or more accurately, impression. Today I want to talk to you and your readers about the vocal freedom of expression each of you have.

You are free to say what you want in whatever manner you choose. That is what freedom of expression means. But having that freedom of choice to express something how you want, doesn't mean you should.

People like to coin the phrase, "free will" around and debate whether free will really is free will, whereas freedom of expression is not up for debate. You can express whatever you want, whenever you choose. No powers can stop that.

But as I've said, freedom of expression doesn't give you carte blanche [corrected misquote] to do so, not if you're wanting to add to your community's value and worth. Knowing what to say, and when to say it, is a skill many humans should be adopting more in their lives. You all are aware that even a single word carries with it the power to offend someone else, or to uplift them.

Even when someone asks you a direct question, you have the freedom of expression to answer how you want. But you shouldn't choose words that don't uplift or offer some verbal power to the person listening. All too often in your modern society people are quick to judge others, particularly in a public environment. This is really an abuse of their freedom of expression. To build your life with meaning and purpose, with hope and comfort for others, your freedom of expression should be constantly monitored.

The phrase "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" should be rewritten to, " because I can, I will uplift this person". Make it a life goal to make others worthy, to help others value themselves, to offer words they want to hear, or would like to hear.

The freedom of expression is one of the Divine's most wonderful gifts to all living subjects. But in using it, the subject shows the Divine the soul of the person using it.

I hope you've found my philosophical words today useful and hopefully thought provoking. Remember that as you express to others, so shall you receive such expression back.

God is your power. Goodbye

MY AFTERTHOUGHTS

written on 24th October 2023
35 days after the session was transcribed

At first, I wasn’t so sure that this speaker offered me anything of real value, outside of a basic reminder to live life with thought for others. I found a deeper message within the text when I transcribed it back for this presentation, however, I’m still awarding this a lower than normal graphic.

🔷 In the opening of this presentation, I hinted that I doubt whether plants and animals really do have freedom of expression, as this speaker suggested.

🔷 A clue into the intelligence levels of the speaker came when they chose to use a common French phrase “carte blanche” and got it completely wrong. Perhaps they didn’t get it wrong and the issue came when my mind was used to recall that phrase during their conversation.

🔷 There is an additional piece of information we can gather from these notes when it comes to discussing free will generally. Freedom of expression is surely connected to that subject?

"The phrase "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" should be rewritten to, because I can, I will uplift this person.“

How Writing Is Achieved

During a session of sitting in the power, Trevor opens his notebook and transcribes the words he hears in his mind as a speaking voice. The transcription is exactly as it is heard.

Only a few words are heard at a time, giving Trevor time to transcribe them. Trevor never knows ahead what the topic of the communication will be.

The process is known as automatic or inspired writing, determined by the depth of the connection.

"I have been in touch with the minds of certain people who have parted from their bodies. How can a mind get in touch with us when it has no body? It must borrow some material form; but because spirits are discarnate it does not mean they have no bodies. They have substantial bodies, not made up of matter, but as I think of ether."

Sir Oliver Lodge

ABOUT TREV'S AFTERTHOUGHTS

The WFSIW sessions are usually published sometime after being transcribed. This allows Trevor to read the transcription from a fresh perspective and ability to critique better.

RECENT WFSIW ADDITIONS

The words are heard as a voice in my mind and written exactly as heard. However, occasionally the translation from voice to words contains grammatical faults. Where these effect the structure and meaning, during the process of converting the notes to this digital form, minor adjustments may be made.
