LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR

PREAMBLE

|| This summary originally written on 30th October 2023

I wonder if the speaker in today’s session just dipped into the fresh thoughts that were filling my mind to use for today’s words of wisdom. Yes, they are wise words, but they are probably wasted on far too many people in today’s communities across the world.

During this period of my holiday, I was wrapped up in the production of a potential new podcast series and the filming of episode one. The series was about the issues within our spiritualist churches at this time.

So, in my respects, it’s hardly surprising that the speaker chose to use that melting pot of mind-thoughts to make a fresh point, one that I had not even considered. Their words, however, did lead me to amend the script for the final scene to include their message.

As a person who often gets animated over my own opinion (which is always correct, of course), I recall one of the wonderful hidden aspects of interviewing a variety of people for the Spirited Talk podcasts. It was the variety of varying opinions each guest has.

It was my job to suppress my own opinions and effectively only ‘love’ the guest for their beliefs, even when I entirely disagreed with them. That was more often than you might imagine too!

There was one guest in particular with whom both our opinions clashed. It was because we each had our own strong opinions on the administration of a specific subject. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the guests and will always admire and respect them, but during the interview, we became rather too expressive of our own opinions on this matter. It took me eighteen months to build up the courage to finally release that particular episode. I was upset with it because I had allowed my opinion to be too prominent during the interview.

This aspect of life is one I would call a “work in progress,” and I suspect if we were all honest with ourselves, we could all use working on it!

POST SCRIPT
  • Would life be any poorer if we all withheld our opinions from others, or would the canvas of life be less colourful? I can’t help but think that if I held back my opinions until somebody asked me for them, I’d wait a long time!

THE WFSIW SESSION

Session transcribed on Thursday 21st September 2023 at 12:30 pm

Good day to you sir. I wondered if I might talk to you today about the topic of your new podcast that you're creating. My particular subject would be looking at the congregational side of the issues with your churches.

First I'd like to let you know that we continue to have churches this side as well. Our venues are always full, and we enjoy listening to the wonderful choirs we have, and singing ourselves. We are invited to speak individually if we want to and, believe me when I tell you, the conversations can be rather lively, shall we say!

People on both sides of the veil carry their own opinions on everything in life. Even here, where a collective mind gathering is required for church services, there is always someone that wants to raise a point for debate. But of course, here we don't have reason to be angry, narked or naughty about anything.

We listen openly to the speakers and learn what we can from them and their points of view. It appears that your earth society have forgotten that their individual opinions are not likely to be in alignment with others. Their opinions are therefore correct or wrong. Yet your society has become aggressive in imposing their points of view on others and responding negatively if others disagree.

This general attitude is because everyone is forgetting to "love thy neighbour". Do unto others as you would be done to yourself, that's what I say.

But many of your church-goers aren't displaying much tolerance and seem to want only the "meat" and not the "potatoes", as my own dad used to say.

When love is absent in a conversation, be the one that instills it. View aggression and negativity like fires about to break out. Dampen the flames with love. Love wins every time.

Your churches will always contain the people that want to express their opinions. But there will also always be those that want peace, and love, and are happy to live with what they've been given. Knowledge is always at the root of such differences amongst mankind.

As you, my medium today, have always preached, each must seek their own truth. I would add to that, but don't impose it on others. Encourage yes, impress maybe, demand never.

I love our church services here. We have a broader audience, after all, we've all lived after the earthly death! Keep learning my friends. Your lives here have only just began and what is ahead of you is richer and more awesome than you could ever imagine.

Peace be with you today and always.

Goodbye.

Love Thy Neighbour

MY AFTERTHOUGHTS

written on 31st October 2023
40 days after the session was transcribed

It’s worth remembering that I connect to the spirit world through this method to learn, to advance my unfoldment, and to become a better person for it. There are one or two sentiments in this message from the speaker today that resonated with me and left a lasting impression in my mind. The reminder about loving thy neighbour was, and remains, so poignant

🔷 I absolutely love the insight that there are churches on the other side of life, too. I wonder if they still have different religions, though? Everyone must be so enlightened by what they now know regarding the continuation of life.

🔷Sadly, the speaker is all too accurate when describing the issues in our society today. Nobody is allowed a different opinion, yet everyone has one. The biggest opinionated issues this world has faced for many a year are being played out as I write this, in both Israel and the Ukraine.

🔷 By the nature of the forces, everything has a polar opposite. There are many more people that want to live in peace and harmony than we care to believe. But the polar opposites are getting all the attention. That’s a bit of a deep opinion!

How Writing Is Achieved

During a session of sitting in the power, Trevor opens his notebook and transcribes the words he hears in his mind as a speaking voice. The transcription is exactly as it is heard.

Only a few words are heard at a time, giving Trevor time to transcribe them. Trevor never knows ahead what the topic of the communication will be.

The process is known as automatic or inspired writing, determined by the depth of the connection.

"I like life. It's something to do!"

ABOUT TREV'S AFTERTHOUGHTS

The WFSIW sessions are usually published sometime after being transcribed. This allows Trevor to read the transcription from a fresh perspective and ability to critique better.

RECENT WFSIW ADDITIONS

The words are heard as a voice in my mind and written exactly as heard. However, occasionally the translation from voice to words contains grammatical faults. Where these effect the structure and meaning, during the process of converting the notes to this digital form, minor adjustments may be made.
