This is the twenty fourth of the seventh series of Lanzarote Sessions, transcribed during a break to the Canary Islands in September 2024. During our frequent visits, I sit in the power of the spirit at least once every day and allow the spirit connect to share a message with me.

For a number of years, I’ve enjoyed writing during my stays on Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands. It’s my happy place, you might say. I’ve openly claimed the island to be spiritual and with an energy I seem to tap into for my passion of writing.
Everyone should have their own happy place. For some, it might be their home with their family and loved ones around them. It might be a particular room or space within that home where you feel at peace. For others, visiting a favourite place during a holiday may bring that sense of happiness and joy that no other place brings. For Jane and I, Lanzarote is what we term ‘our second home’.
Whenever we arrive back for one of our frequent stays, peace ascends upon us when we walk out of the big glass doors of Arrecife airport into the warm, bright, and clean climate of this Canary Island. In previous visits, we’ve explored the island and driven from one end to the other on the quiet, smooth mountain roads. We’ve visited all the attractions and did all the usual tourist stuff in the earlier years. We no longer need to do that. We drive to our villa or apartment and immediately settle. We’re home again, we often say aloud.
By the beginning of the second day, I’ve collected the suitcases that we have stored on the island long term and unpack my old laptop and cables. Within a few hours, I’m settled and ready to begin work. I’m in my happy place once more! Later in the day, I’ll take my Kindle Scribe into a spare bedroom and attune to the spirit world, waiting for someone to join me to share their message for my inspired writing session. The subsequent messages are always exciting to receive.
I’ve created a climate that suits this work. No distractions, interruptions, pressing chores, just my inner self and the company of a guest speaker from the other side of the veil. I’ve always believed that the energy of this spiritually peaceful island makes the difference to the power of my connections with the spirit world. The speaker in this session, takes up those thoughts and shares their opinion.
I strongly believe that everyone should have their happy place. A space where they are at ease and at one with their spirit and soul. Even a space in a corner of a room can be turned into a happy place quite easily. Wherever it is, it should be used to recharge, and unwind from the situations of the day. Ten minutes in a happy place will make all the difference.
THE SPIRIT INSIGHT

Good afternoon, good day to you sir. What fine weather you’re experiencing where you are. Some might wonder if the climate helps or changes your abilities in mediumship. We’ve heard some people on earth claim that extra sunlight, or snow, or frost change how the connection works between us. I’m afraid that is not so.
A person’s ability to communicate with us, and likewise us to them, does not vary according to climatic or geographical conditions.
I hear your mind asking why it is you feel that island works better for you, than at your home thousands of miles away. Let me explain please.
You are indeed correct in stating that your island, Lanzarote, is spiritual and has a unique energy. That is so. For many years, spiritual people have benefitted from time spend on the island.
You have tapped into that wonderful energy and appear to feed off it very well. But that has little to do with communicating with this side.
Lanzarote feeds your spirit and acts like a cleaning agent, ridding you of emotional toxins and build-ups from normal life. In turn, this allows your spirit a greater freedom of expression whilst also aiding your unfoldment.
This, therefore, results in your ability to communicate with us a lot easier. The process is the same as anywhere. But there, you feel able to do so with greater ease.
A while ago, you drafted some notes on creating little worlds for working with us. You didn’t take that article beyond draft because you felt nobody would get the point. You were wrong. The synopsis you came to was entirely plausible and definitely worthwhile.
Your theory of mini-worlds is not far off what you achieve when you came to this island. It’s a place you have conditioned for your work with us. May I suggest you revisit those draft notes and work on publishing it. Others will benefit in the long-term, trust me.
A final remark I’d like to say to finish this session. Your connection to us for this writing process is extremely strong, even if you don’t think so. But you are intolerable to interruption when you’re writing our words. Don’t be. If you have interruptions, or have to stop, so be it. Life continues, doesn’t it? We’ll be here, and we’ll do our best to pick up from where we left off. You can be sure of that.

MY AFTERTHOUGHTS

🔷 The thing is, I love my home too. But, even though I have an office and sanctuary that’s removed from the actual house, I tend to believe there are too many distractions around me, or too many other more important tasks I should be doing in the time. Sitting in the power, particularly for inspired words, has become something I enjoy either very late at night, when the world is asleep, or during stays on Lanzarote. I’ll admit that this state I’ve created is mainly a mental one. Perhaps it’s a bit of OCD in me that likes all the boxes ticked when I take on a task, including sitting in the power of self.
🔷 The article that this speaker is referring to has been in draft from August 2024. It’s one of many topics that I’ve started to write about and then put aside for more important articles. I will revisit the draft and get it published as quickly as I can. Perhaps I’ll get it done during this stay on Lanzarote. Don’t hold me to it though!
🔷 The speaker makes a separation between the location that feeds the spirit and soul, and the ability to communicate easier with the spirit world. Am I missing something, surely the two would work together? Not according to this speaker. Well, not in such a direct way as I’d thought. Indirectly yes, but not dependent on both.
