THE VOICE OF YOUR SPIRIT

THE PREAMBLE

This is the second session of the eighth series of Lanzarote Sessions, transcribed during a break to the Canary Islands in December 2024. During our frequent visits, I sit in the power of the spirit at least once every day and allow the spirit connect to share a message with me.

|| This summary written on 13th April 2025

Have you ever gone to a workshop where the tutor first tells everyone that the day will cover some of the basics of mediumship? And then you find yourself thinking, “How dull. I know all that stuff. I want to learn something new that will help me with my mediumship.”

I’m like that too! Basics? I don’t need those! But with the wisdom of a few years of learning and unfolding under my belt, I now realise that I was wrong to harbour such dismissive notions. I’ve come to realise that the so-called basics are where most of our mediumship problems and answers begin and end. Mediumship is not hard to grasp as such. What makes it difficult to master is our perception of what we think is required of us. Whatever the issues are that we believe we have with our mediumship, the answers always lie in the basics. I stand by that – ALWAYS.

So many of the messages I transcribe from a connected speaker in the spirit world are based on a basic principle. They’re important messages, yet we find ourselves, all too quickly, dismissing the sentiments as not important to us individually. It stems from our lack of understanding of our subject, the requirements we need to understand, and the discipline we need to put in place to grow. The problem might be in the way we see our mediumship journey. The word journey suggests movement, learning new stuff, new techniques, better ways, greater results, and so on. But this is where the flaw lies in our thinking.

Growth in our abilities overall is not a directional journey, even though we insist on using such phrases as ‘learning curve’ or ‘progression’.  Our growth is not dependent on learning new abilities with mediumship. Instead, it’s about mastering the basics and making them the most important ingredient of our work with the spirit world.

The speaker in this second session of series 8 is returning from the previous session. He/she talked about how we need to appreciate the importance of love, both receiving it and sharing it with others. After the first session was published, senior envoy Bill commented on the session. Here is an extract from that comment:

“I identified with your contact’s words. S/he held up a mirror I could see myself (warts and all) in it. The remark about making your feelings known today because you may not get the opportunity tomorrow is so important.”

Bill is displaying how his growth and development still lie within mastering the basics of mediumship and creating a spiritual life. To me, that reflects how Bill is determined to grow with his mediumship, and how much he is understanding the importance of the basics are in our journey.  Perhaps Bill will, like me, appreciate the return of that speaker to help us understand the topic of love and gratitude a little better. Basics 101 perhaps, but remember the old saying, “To know and not to do is not to know.”

Can you appreciate how I, as the transcriber of the message, have learned to detach myself from knowing I am writing the message, and how I appreciate the transcribed words as if they have been presented by someone else. I trust my connection.

THE SPIRIT INSIGHT

transcribed on Wednesday 11th December 2024, at 3:48 pm

I am with you again. I spoke to you in the last session you wrote and missed what I wanted to say because your accident caused a change. My chosen topic was, however, closely related in many ways. I wanted to address how you, and your lucky readers, could become more spiritually-minded.

As you’re aware, spirit is within you, as in many ways I am too. Spiritual, and being so refers to an inwardly direction, rather than an outwardly visible force, though the latter does occur if the inward. spiritual self is present.

I don’t want to refer to the isms of the word. That has nothing to do with being a spiritual person, merely a man-made group of people with notions and beliefs they rarely display in themselves.

Being a truly spiritual person is a task most people will fail to achieve in one lifetime on earth. The very nature of humans means many emotions create many personalities of varying amounts. That balance of good and bad emotions makes everyone unique, thankfully.

But behind what the eyes see and the outward projection from life, we are all somewhat similar. We all have our own spirit, created from our soul’s purpose.

In our inward world, similarities are in abundance. Our spirit seeks the same emotions. Love, desire and purpose. In that silence we have to tap into, we hear only one voice. The voice of our spirit and soul. Those, such as you, that are trained to be aware, hear the voices of people, like me, from another dimension of life.

But it is that you-voice I am referring to. It is that voice, that wants to guide you, care for you and love you. It is that voice that serves the purpose of your life.

It seeks only to be heard and to be a force-shaping navigator. A truly spiritual person hears that voice and the pureness of its message.

Life is about fulfillment, achievement and understanding. To achieve these rewards, your spirit only wants to give love and be love. Your spirit wants good for you and for you to share it with others.

Emotional states, such as greed and envy are not products of your spirit. They are results from your lack of listening and understanding of what your spirit desires.

This is why so few people are as spiritual as they should be. They are not listening inwardly. They have become deaf to their purpose, instead choosing to protect their false egos and preserve their outwardly appearance. They believe what other humans think of them to be more important than what their own spirit wants.

Many will never achieve a truly spiritual life. But trying is better than not. As I mentioned at the beginning, if one achieves anything of a spiritual life, it will reflect an outward light that touches others like no other force can.

The downfall of mankind is when they ask to be more spiritual, but fail to follow the voice of their spirit. The loudest voice, yet the least heard.

If one needs to ask how to be spiritual in their life, they have missed the point.

I sense your mind wandering, so I will conclude this session as I did in the last. The key to life, and the one thing your spirit desires more than anything else is to be a vessel for love. Nothing else matters.

Thank you for this time together.

MY AFTERTHOUGHTS

written at the time of this presentation

🔷  I suspect that most students within the mediumship fraternity have come to realise that there is a vast chasm between being a spiritual person and being a spiritualist. It can be hard to accept that a spiritualist doesn’t have to be a spiritual person, and rarely is. The only connection I can suggest is that if I try my hardest to live a spiritual life, with all the flaws I have, I am therefore a spiritualist in the romantic sense of the word, rather than the religious movement connotations of the ism.

🔷  I am fascinated by the differences between our outer voice, the one that everyone hears, and the inner voice, the one we live with behind the veil of our mind. The other voice, less understood and yet the most important, is the voice of our soul. I think that this is an area of mediumship and philosophy that isn’t written about enough. If we were to understand the soul’s desires, I wonder if we would find it too restrictive in our lifestyle. That’s pretty deep, don’t you think?

🔷   The message from this speaker ends with a strong point: “If one needs to ask how to be spiritual in their life, they have missed the point.” Perhaps a little harsh, but certainly more than a drop of the truth substance within it. At times such as this, I love my work with the spirit world. How revealing it can be.

“Life is about fulfillment, achievement and understanding. To achieve these rewards, your spirit only wants to give love and be love. Your spirit wants good for you and for you to share it with others.”
