This is the third session of the eighth series of Lanzarote Sessions, transcribed during a break to the Canary Islands in December 2024. During our frequent visits, I sit in the power of the spirit at least once daily and allow the spirit-connect to share a message with me.

There are many aspects of my study of mediumship that I’m not “genned-up” on. There are so many questions to ask, and often, the answers lead to even more questions. That is the very nature of the work. No one person knows everything, and in many areas, I know very little!
This is why I sometimes get frustrated with the tutors teaching mediumship. They all seem to have this built-in need to answer all questions that are put to them by their students. I’ve never heard a tutor respond to a question, “I don’t know the answer, but here is my opinion, based on my understanding …” They appear to act as if not knowing is a weakness in their ability to teach.
I, on the other hand, openly admit there’s loads of stuff I don’t know and equally as many questions I cannot answer. If someone were to ask me to define the difference between a person’s spirit and their soul, I would need several minutes to formulate my answer, and then it would only be my opinion, likely to be wrong or factually inaccurate according to others.
One of my biggest worries, when I sit with a pen and paper to transcribe a person in spirit’s message, is that they will choose to talk about something I have a weak knowledge about. That stems from my fears about what I’m going to write, combined with my lack of trust that the person in spirit will be there.
The following session, the third in this eighth series, starts very well, with the speaker introducing herself (see notes at the end). At this stage, I’m in the zone and comfortable. But then, the speaker starts talking about a topic where my knowledge is vague, and my understanding has holes! “Trust the speaker“, a small part of my mind is saying to self! And I do.
Does that mean the speaker’s message should be considered ‘the gospel truth’? Of course not. The message is based on the speaker’s experience of the topic. But it does offer us an alternative viewpoint and may help our understanding of the topic.
The questions I ask myself about this session are, would I have been able to compose the words from my own understanding without giving any deep thought, and would I have chosen the subject based on my knowledge? The answers are an absolute no. Yet here we have an example of the power of spirit-inspired writing.
THE SPIRIT INSIGHT

Good day to you Sir. I find you well and relaxed, ready for my message this day. My name, when I was on Earth, was Margaret. I chose a different name for this life. I am now known as Soulseeker. It was my passion on earth to discover what I could about the living being soul and I carry on with that work here today.
The soul is an infinite part of all of us. Even in this life form we have a soul. The soul is the spark of life that formed who we are and who we become. It originates from the highest dimension and descends to grow, to become, and to achieve it’s ultimate desire. That is, to ascend to be welcomed back in the highest kingdom known – that of the Divine.
The soul’s purpose is above and beyond the desires from life itself, though these aspects help form it through the spirit of the soul. The spirit is unique in that it is part of the soul and of the body or lifeform. Your spirit, and every other spirit are therefore the engine, the creator, the force that listens to both the body and the soul.
The soul, however, wants only to ascend back to where it came, to be part of the Divine and eternal life. The soul only absorbs that which is good for it.
Did you know that the spirit of a person cannot be bad. It may not appear so, from your viewpoint as a living body, but believe me, that is how it is. If the body living wastes its life, doesn’t achieve any good, then it doesn’t effect the spirit or the soul.
The misguided body, the evil creators, the baddun’s, as you call them, still have a spirit and a soul thats sole purpose is to ascend. It is only the body that doesn’t experience that during its lifetime. The soul survives all. The spirit can enter a new body and try again influencing that new body to not make the same mistakes.
Can you now understand a little clearer why life is said to be eternal? It may take immeasurably time for a soul to reascend to the Divine. But that will happen and take many of your lifetimes to achieve.
Many body’s on earth fear talking about the soul and its purpose. My findings suggest this to be because of a lack of clear definition. Many of your type of people don’t know the truth and have not taken the time to understand it correctly.
No doubt, my opinions are based on my understanding, and no doubt I may be off with a few details. But what I’ve shared with you is my understanding, based on my extensive research, both on earth and here in the continuation.
I’m sure you’ll do some research and discover at least one of my publications. [The] last I knew, there are still some copies around.

MY AFTERTHOUGHTS

🔷 There’s a lot to unpack from Margaret’s message. The line that stands out to me is where she talks about the soul and the spirit being unaffected by the ‘lifestyle’ chosen by the person. It suggests that the evil displayed by some humans is not the intent of their soul, or their spirit. That’s a big statement! I therefore find myself where the evil stems from. Perhaps it’s the free will choices that the person chooses, and nothing deeper than that. Hitler, Saville, The Yorkshire Ripper? Are we suggesting their souls and their spirits were unable to control their actions? If so, how detached they must have been from their inner self.
🔷 Margaret is suggesting that we do indeed live more than one lifetime in the physical form on earth. That is an area I’ve always been uncertain about, though there is much actual evidence available to back the claim. I still don’t go entirely with the suggestion we return to earth to experience lessons. If that were the case, there would surely be no evil nowadays. I’ll accept the suggestion we return to earth to live again, but can’t accept that we do so with a purpose of learning. Surely all life is learning.
🔷 I agree with Margaret’s reasoning that appears to be differing points of view regarding the spirit and soul. Most tutors and mentors I’ve ever spoken to have their own opinions, and all of them differ in various ways. This must surely be because of the true lack of understanding of the topic. Don’t get me wrong – I’ve no ideas of what the truth is either, however, I do know that many notions I have been taught were flawed and without supporting evidence.

WHO WAS MARGARET?
After producing this edition, I did a little research on the internet with the few clues Margaret gave us. Based on her interest in the soul, her mention of writing books and that she was now living in the afterlife, I found one person that resonates with me.
Margaret Lobenstine, a peace activist, and author of several books on the Soul, including “The Renaissance Soul” passed over in 2015 aged 72.
Even though I cannot be sure this is the Margaret that shared the message with us, this lady’s work fits perfectly with the brief. I spent some time exploring Mrs Lobenstine’s life and books and found it very interesting indeed.
