- The Lanzarote Sessions
This is the seventeenth of the seventh series of Lanzarote Sessions, transcribed during a break to the Canary Islands in September 2024. During our frequent visits, I sit in the power of the spirit at least once every day and allow the spirit connect to share a message with me.

Remark To Self: If you believe so strongly in the power of healing, why do you often fail to remember to heal yourself?
Though it might appear evident to others, I hadn’t realised I have double standards concerning administering healing. I wholeheartedly appreciate the power of spiritual healing. It works, of that I am certain. A life-giving and life-creating energy force surrounds us. When we send healing to others, we embrace this natural force that sustains energy. By the power of intent and force, we amplify that energy that keeps us all alive and targets it where our intent suggests. Distance is unimportant, only the power of the intent.
I would much prefer to sit in a circle of healers, than a circle of mediums. The energy is palpable and everyone present benefits from the experience. But when it comes to focusing that wonderful energy on myself, when I’m alone, it never has the same importance. It should do, and nobody knows that more than me. My past tutors have always stated how important self-healing is, and I completely agree with them. So why am I practising double standards by hearing it, accepting it, but not doing it?
It’s not just me though. If truth be known, many healers fail to administer self-healing. It’s like it gets dropped down the ‘importance’ list. Giving yourself healing is a habit that needs to be established.
What’s the first thing we do when we get in a car? We fasten a seatbelt. It’s second nature, something we do without thought. That is how we need to consider self-healing. It should be the first thing we do, not the last. Today’s speaker chooses to remind me of this, at a time when I was under the weather with yet another chest infection.
- POSTSCRIPT
Be honest with yourself right now. When was the last time you took a few moments to direct the healing energy at yourself? Hopefully, you’re someone that does. If you’re like me though, you need to change your habit and move yourself up the list.
THE SPIRIT INSIGHT

Hello. I hear you. But I can’t answer your question as to why you picked up another chest infection. I can answer many questions about the etheric body, but the physical one, not.
Thank you for asking for healing, and of course, we will help. When you sleep later, place your hand on your chest and ask us again. You will feel the energy as it enters your body.
The reason why healers, like yourself, often forget to, or just don’t bother healing themselves is quite a simple one. When you send healing to others, there is no reason to feel any physical differences in the energy. But when you send healing to self, there is often an expectation to physically feel something. Even though you know it doesn’t work that way you maintain this unnecessary desire to feel it working. The lack of sensations often leads healers to believe it’s not working on themselves, and choose to exclude themselves from self- healing.
Let me tell you, my friend and all, healing yourself first and every time is a very healthy and worthwhile practice. You cannot maintain the belief that your healing works for others, yet not for yourself. That’s like suggesting you don’t really believe in it.
If all the wonderful people that call upon the healing source every day, were to include them self in the request, people would be far more heathy.
You had a query in your mind yesterday regarding animals and birds. You wondered why they rarely show signs of being ill or off-colour. They do. They just aren’t blessed with humans’ abilities of expression. But if you were to study any animal or bird for their entire life, you’d soon recognise when they are feeling unwell.
The body for life is a biological wonder. But it has challenges. Constantly defending the finest of balances. Rejecting invaders and working constantly to maintain a state you call survival.
Trevor, your immune system is not in tip-top condition. It’s vulnerable to attacks and open to these unwelcome invaders. That’s just the way it is. But self-healing would help by working from the within.
I wish you a speedy recovery and will assure you receive added healing energy. Listen to your body and respond accordingly.
Thank you for writing my words. They will work as a reminder to other healers.
Goodbye
MY AFTERTHOUGHTS
written at the time of this presentation
🔷 Catching a chest infection on holiday has become a common issue. Perhaps it’s the recycled air on the flight. A trip to the local pharmacy and many pills follow. Self-healing? Doesn’t occur to me as an option, even though it should.
🔷 Yes, I’d been wondering about animals getting ill, after a Lanzarote dove landed on our balcony. “Are you ever ill?” I said aloud. How would we know. Of course, the more I thought about it, the more I realised the more domesticated animals act differently when they’re off-colour.
🔷 Whether or not I did place my hands on my chest that evening, I can’t recall. But I can say that I practice self-healing quite often at home. Usually before I fall asleep, I’ll say a prayer, send a request for healing and place my hands across my chest. If nothing else, I usually fall asleep shortly after!
