MY LESSON IN TRUST

THE PREAMBLE

This is the sixth of the seventh series of Lanzarote Sessions, transcribed during a break to the Canary Islands in September 2024. During our frequent visits, I sit in the power of spirit at least once every day and allow the spirit connect to share a message with me.

|| This summary written on 3rd January 2025

We’d visited a favourite restaurant this particular evening. We took an outside table as we usually do. Parallel to our table was another table with a man and a woman sat at it.

Because of their proximity to us, I introduced myself to them, with my name and then Jane’s. In the split second after saying my name, I heard a voice in my mind telling me the man’s name was Phillipe. My mind was thinking it’s a French name. The gentleman responded by introducing himself to us with his name, Phillipe. We could clearly hear from his accent that he was French. My excitement got the better of me!

I declared to him that I already knew his name and how I wished I could have told him before he told me! Jane’s response was something like this.

“He does this all the time! He’s a psychic medium. Sometimes it’s embarrassing. Sorry.”

In my enthusiasm to ‘impress’ them further, I told the lady her name was Rebecca.

“No, it’s not“, she confidently declared. “It’s Chantelle.”

I can’t be wrong surely, I thought. I then spend a few seconds asking her who Rebecca was and why had I received that name. It transpired that she didn’t know, or had ever known, anyone with the name Rebecca. I was wrong, wrong, wrong. Like a wounded medium, I sat there puzzled as to why I had received only one right name. That one wrong name completed diluted my evidence of being any good as a medium.

During following conversations, Phillipe declared that he had always believed in an afterlife, where Chantelle had no belief in such matters. So, licking my wounds I said no more on the subject and for the remainder of our time in this couple’s company, we enjoyed our meal while Jane showed off her fluency in the French language. I was left out in the cold!

So, what went wrong for me, and why? I thought no more about the matter and the incident soon sank to the depths of my mind. Later, when I sat for inspired words, the speaker told me what had gone wrong and why. This turned out to be one of the finest lessons I’ve had in a very long time.

I don’t walk around expecting to give messages or receive communications whenever an occasion arises. It just happens! And I’m wise enough to know when to say something and when not to. That said, being a medium can often be a fascinating ice-breaker.

THE SPIRIT INSIGHT

transcribed on Sunday 22nd September 2024 at 01:25 am

It’s good to see how enthusiastic you’re becoming once more about sitting with the pen for our messages.

So much of what we share through our communications with life on earth is filled with interpretations. Lazy mediumship is rife, even amongst the most reliable. Our messages come in many languages other than words alone, and this is often where the medium’s interpretations can be found.

Many such interpretations we experience are, more or less, acceptable and serve the purpose of relaying a message. But often, we experience frustration when a message is interpreted wrongly, inaccurately and sometimes completely not as intended.

We feel frustrated at times, and find ourselves wishing the medium had taken a little more time to hear or sense our message more clearly before adding their own colour to it.

Your last speaker talked to you about trust, and how it should be 100% all the time. Any less, and interpretations tend to dissipate into the message, causing a dilution.

Yourself tonight, trusted completely the name we gave you for the gentleman sat beside you in the restaurant. We laughed so much at your reaction when he declared his name was *Filipe. You were so impressed that you already knew it, yet disappointed you hadn’t said it first!

You got the lady’s name wrong because you made it up in your mind. In the split second that we gave you his name, you filled in the gap and thought of a name for her. We hadn’t given you her name yet. In your eagerness, you stopped trusting us. It’s subtle and probably unintentional but serves as an example of how your eagerness to use your psychic powers overruled your trust in the process.

This happens all the time with many mediums. The eagerness to get the evidence, the detail, overrules the trust, the bond.

Learn to explicitly trust and don’t use your own interpretations so often. In tonight’s example, we didn’t want you to have her name, so we didn’t tell you. Instead, you interpreted your own thoughts, instead of accepting the one name we gave you.

Can you appreciate the difference? Can you see how 100% trust works and how interpretation can, and often is, wrong.

You refer to these mediums as 50-50 types. Well my friend, when you interpret instead of trusting the subtle processes, 50-50 mediumship will happen.

Do you not see what a powerful lesson you have learned this day? Have we showed you how you are a good medium and close to being a great one? The key is in the trust.

If we don’t tell you something, it might be for a reason. Filipe has a belief in the two worlds whereas Chantelle doesn’t. Did you notice how quickly she told you, you were wrong with her name? At this time in the her life she is not ready.

I’m hoping today’s lessons have helped you. This is lessons your teachers cannot teach. Mainly because they don’t understand the processes well enough.

I’ll leave you to sleep now.

Goodbye.

* I didn’t know how to spell the name correctly, and wrote it as it sounded instead.

MY AFTERTHOUGHTS

written at the time of this presentation

  • This session proved to be a valuable lesson for me and one of the clearest examples of how I (we) let our trust slip momentarily during the process of mediumship communications.
  • My ego also became part of the issue. Being determined always to be correct is not a good attitude to display. Too many mediums burn their connecting energy away when they ‘stand their ground’ instead of just going with the flow and moving on. Mediums, including me, need to realise, we can, and often are, wrong in our interpretations.
  • Notice how subtle, yet incredible, this lesson was delivered to me by the spirit team. No teachers I have ever encountered on earth would relay such a valuable lesson by observing me in this detailed way.

“The medium’s eagerness to get the evidence, the detail, often overrules the trust, the bond.”

REBRANDING FOR 2025

The series of WFSIW has been rebranded to Spirit Insights. A few minor tweaks have been added to the new design for a cleaner look.

The actual sessions remain the same and they will all be indexed together as one collection

How Writing Is Achieved

During a session of sitting in the power, Trevor opens his notebook and transcribes the words he hears in his mind as a speaking voice. The transcription is exactly as it is heard.

Only a few words are heard at a time, giving Trevor time to transcribe them. Trevor never knows ahead what the topic of the communication will be.

The process is known as automatic or inspired writing, determined by the depth of the connection.

RECENT

The words are heard as a voice in my mind and written exactly as heard. However, occasionally the translation from voice to words contains grammatical faults. Where these effect the structure and meaning, during the process of converting the notes to this digital form, minor adjustments may be made.

"Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies."

ABOUT TREV'S AFTERTHOUGHTS

The Spirit Insights sessions are usually published some time after being transcribed. This allows Trevor to read the transcription from a fresh perspective and have the ability to critique better.

2025 CHANGES

As of January 2025, the original WFSIW page design has been updated, and every session added after that date uses this new format.

The series is initially only available in full to the Spirited Talk Envoys, who are paying subscribers. After two months, the page is made available to everyone.
