Many of us use background music when sitting for meditative purposes, while others prefer silence. There is no right and wrong, it’s a personal choice.
I like to have a music track playing with high volume through headphones. The choice of track is always instrumental in type, which doesn’t encourage me to listen to the singer’s voice. Loudness means I don’t get distracted by external sounds, yet I’ve learned not to focus on the music.
I tend to download long instrumentals from websites such as YouTube. Searching for ‘meditation music’ returns a vast selection of choices. My flavour of music has varied over the years. Nowadays, my favourite music is that of South African loop artist ‘Reinhardt Burh’. No matter what tempo a track is, I can zone out and adjust my focus internally. I can also fall asleep with the music playing in my ears.
Music assists my depth of focus and helps me reach a state of mind suitable for connecting to the spirit world. The connecting people from the spirit world are not put off my the music, and occasionally have shared their opinions of the music they can hear. Music is something they continue to enjoy in their world.

THE SPIRIT INSIGHT
transcribed on Saturday, 11th November 2023, at 2:15 am
It is wonderful to hear you enjoying the music as you connected with me. I must say your choice of songs are rather different than those of my days. Don’t get me wrong, I most certainly aren’t disapproving. Music is the liquor of the Gods, they say. And music can be used to accompany so many emotions and memories.
I always wished I’d learnt to play an instrument when I had the chance. It doesn’t matter here now though. We have so much music available to us. It takes on a different dimension here though.
Your sounds are limited there to the two ears that you use. Here we have much more depth available to the listening. The vibrations it releases brings the music we choose to life.
Everyone I know that here crossed to this side, that didn’t have music in their life on earth, soon change when they get here to experience ours. Music is the polar opposite to silence you might think, but it’s not. Music can create a pure silence, but that might be too much to explain to you, without you understanding music on many dimensions.
Thank you for letting me talk this time. Like you, I’ve been a little distracted by hearing your music in your ears. Perhaps you might use that tempo of music more often. It appears to slow down your mind into wanting to get involved.
I do wish people on earth would stop believing the old thing about harps being played by angels on clouds. That would not be my taste, and I’ve never seen it happen since I’ve been here!
I suspect a few of your listeners might enjoy what you’re listening to. Write the title of it now, so you remember.

MY AFTERTHOUGHTS
written at the time of this presentation
🔷 It’s a misconception that all music we listen to for preparation to connect with the spirit world should be slow in tempo. If we want to raise our vibration rate to ease connection, then often a pacey track works better. Listen entirely to the track on the link above and experience for yourself how it raises your vibration.
🔷 The message from this speaker appears only to be to comment on music and its effect on our energy. I do believe that whatever one chooses to listen to, for the purpose of meditation, is better if monotonic or simple in content with a consistent volume level throughout.
🔷 When this session was originally published, I gave it a low mark. I’ve not changed it for this final archive. Outside of the comments on the music, the message offer little more in value.
“Music can create a pure silence . . .“
This was the audio track I was listening to during sitting for this session. The looping musician goes by the name of TribalNeed and can be found on YouTube and BandCamp. I have several of his albums which are not entirely recorded live.
