- The Lanzarote Sessions
This is the twenty first of the seventh series of Lanzarote Sessions, transcribed during a break to the Canary Islands in September 2024. During our frequent visits, I sit in the power of the spirit at least once every day and allow the spirit connect to share a message with me.

A suitable medium is receiving signs and communications from the spirit world more often than most. But some tutors might argue that they shouldn’t.
At the beginning of my personal unfoldment, I recall the meditation tutor insisting that I should learn to ‘shut down’ after the process. She suggested that we need to set rules with the spirit people working with us and that there is a time and place. Several other tutors suggested the same, that it was best practice to only accept communications when we were ‘open’ to receiving them.
Nowadays, I don’t believe that principle. I’m not saying those teachers were right or wrong. It just doesn’t sit well with me. For one thing, the spirit world isn’t always as disciplined as that with us. If they want to get our attention anytime, anywhere, they will! Of course, I’m speaking for myself in this one, so if your tutor is teaching you differently, you should go with what sits better with you. We’re not clones.
I’ve been receiving communications from the other side for a quarter of a century, and certainly not just when I ask for them. I have documented many incidents where the spirit person communicated randomly at a time I was least expecting it. Off the top of my head, I recall the recent time in Lanzarote when we took a table at a restaurant with a couple already seated at the nearby table. Within seconds, somehow, I knew the name of the man. When we introduced ourselves to them, for social reasons, and before I could say anything, the French man introduced himself by name. His name was Phillippe. My response was awkward! I spouted out that I knew that already! Some might suggest that I received the name through psychic, earth energy methods. But I disagree. I wasn’t attempting to probe his energy in the slightest. I was simply taking a seat at our table, The name popped into my head as if someone behind me just said it in my ear.
This is just one example of hundreds of similar occasions where this, or similar has happened. Surely, therefore, I could not have been ‘shut down’ as the teachers wanted me to learn. But likewise, I don’t go around deliberately waiting for the spirit team to talk to me about people. It just happens. On another occasion, I was just chatting normally the my Envoy friend Bill, at a hotel we met at. Suddenly out of nowhere, I heard his father in spirit tell me he was an amputee. When shared with Bill, it transpired that was accurate. Yet I hadn’t been intentionally waiting for the spirit team to work with me.
It is my belief that this happens to most decent mediums more often than we know. After all, why would they be sharing such stories. I’m fortunate that I have a platform such as this website to document these events. I’m not any better at mediumship than anyone else, but I have learned to listen and accept what I receive as for a reason.
Today’s speaker shares his/her’s perspective on this topic. It’s something many mediums could do with taking on board.
- POSTSCRIPT
It is entirely possible that, without being aware of it, I have perfected the art of turning on and off my ‘psychic’ side, without being aware of it. I tend to believe that these ways work with me because I have established good trust with those in spirit that have chosen to work through me.
THE SPIRIT INSIGHT

Good day to you. You’re what I would have considered a prolific writer, particularly with these pen messages. Well done to you. I wonder, do you see it as a talent? A strength? Or do you just do it without thought? No matter the answer, I think it’s a wonderful asset for your mediumship work.
The point I wanted to make this time is one that I’m sure several of your previous speakers must have covered in the past for sure. It’s regarding how determined we are here to contact our earth dwellers to let them know about this life.
I’m sure your previous speakers have talked about how many ways you have at your disposal to get a message to, and from us. I just want you to know there are vast number of personalities here that are constantly communicating with earth people. A great many of our messages are lost. They go unheard, or are withheld by the receiver. Some go on deaf ears, even though we know they are blatantly obvious.
This is a factor we have had to build into our work. We work to ensure that, even after we pass a message on successfully to a receiver, the message continues onto its intended person.
Thousands of messages of varying importance successfully get relayed to receivers, every hour of your days. But the filters used by the receivers block, amend or simply forget what it was we told them.
You’ll note I call them receivers. This is because messages don’t just get sent to actual mediums. They get sent to whoever we are trying to send it to.
Mediums are better receivers, though even they filter or adjust some messages. The point is, communication isn’t limited to specific times or people.
I must say, you’ve written my words accurately. And I’ve been made aware that you publish our messages word for word. This, for me, is wonderful. Every single word I transmit to your mind is going to be read by anyone who cares to read them. How beautiful is that?
My final words would be to anyone else reading these words. Please, leave a space in your open mind for us to talk to you. Avoid dismissing the messages and accept them with an acknowledgement, such as thank you.
This has been an excellent experience with you, and I would like to wish you all the very best with your life on earth.
More healing will be sent your way to see that virus away.
Chow for now.
MY AFTERTHOUGHTS
written at the time of this presentation
🔷 This is one message from the spirit speaker that I believe wasn’t entirely sent for me alone. I am confident that I practice listening, seeing, and sensing the spirit kingdom pretty much most of my woken hours. It doesn’t mean I’m a nutter walking around, always ready to deliver a message though. I believe I’m as ‘normal’ as the next person. But I’ve learned to use my senses as part of my daily life.
🔷 As I was writing up this session, it occurred to me that the reason some mediums believe they’re not very good at what they do, is because they’ve not got it openly wrong enough times. I’ve been wrong so many times in my mediumship that, on balance, I’m wrong as many times as I’m right. Through constantly getting things wrong with the spirit world, I’ve learned the subtle knack of getting things inadvertently right as well.
🔷 This speaker suggests that although mediums should be the better conduits, they often aren’t, because they tend to want to iron out the wrinkles all too often. In other words, they want to filter communications, polish them up, and occasionally embellish them. If you watch great mediums of today, such as Paul Jacobs, or others of that standard, they’re not afraid of getting things wrong. If one were to analyse their readings, line for line, one would find the balance of right and wrong is nearer 50/50 than one might at first believe.

One Response
It has always been a pet peeve of mine, when Mediums feel that they need to filter the messages received from Spirit, or that they know best for the client. I think that as long as you remain positive about the message, the client can handle anything. It is after all his or her message to receive, not ours.
