With so many of the messages I’ve transcribed from speakers in the spirit world, the content can appear vague or simplistic. On reading today’s session for this presentation, I thought exactly that. The message appears vague, that is, until I gave the words some extra thought.
The speaker in this session mentions the importance of desires as part of our educational progression. I’d never considered desires as anything more than a whimsical passing thought. I’ve desired many things throughout my life, as I’m sure we all have. Some good, some not so good, and some nothing more than fantasy.
Everything I have achieved, and everything you’ve also accomplished, started out as nothing more than a desire. It wasn’t yet a want, goal or need, just a desire that started life in our mind, like a scattered seed in the field of thoughts.
We then feed that single desire, that single seed, with nothing, with poison or with potential. Many of my desires were not fed. They remained nothing more than fantasies in my mind. Other desires were fed poison, the negativity of thoughts that my desire was beyond me anyway. A few desires though got fed with positivity, and in doing so revealed its potential.
Twenty odd years ago, I suddenly had a desire to explore the world of mediumship, in the hope of discovering it all to be fake nonsense. I kept that desire alive, and although my intentions were misaligned, I soon had the basis of a life-changing seedling growing in my mind. The desire had become a real thing.
The deeper message that I got from today’s speaker was that we should not always dismiss our desires as just lightweight thoughts with no foundations. Instead, we should feed that desire. Explore the potential within it. Weigh up the percentage of us being able to achieve it realistically before killing it off as mere fanciful fantasy.

THE SPIRIT INSIGHT

Humans’ desire to progress is what sets the race above all other living life on earth. But it is more than just a desire, it’s a driving force that shapes every action and interaction in a unique way. You see, animals are content living in the moment, so long as they can find their basic and instinctive needs.
Even an animal that is starved will often have no desires to conjure up other ways to find food. Humans, on the other hand, have so many more skills and abilities.
Am I telling you something you weren’t aware of? Of course not. But I am going to surprise you. Humans that don’t progress are all too quick in blaming it on their circumstances, or someone else.
Every person has that automatic ability to progress their life in whatever way they desire, or are driven to. But I’m not talking about progressing through time, I’m talking about advancing their own understanding, their own abilities, their education, and even their relationships.
Why some people appear not to progress as far as they should and could is their doing. Some people often confuse living in the moment as reason enough to not be concerned about their own progress. That is an illusion and shows ignorance.
I used the word ‘desires’ to start my chat. Often that word is considered soft and lacking real punch. That is not how desire should be thought of. Desire is like a new seedling. So much potential, so much growth, so much more to follow.
Nothing was ever achieved by mankind that didn’t start first as a desire. Wouldn’t it be admirable if everyone alive were to take a few minutes out of their daily chores and write down a list of desires they might have.
Big or small, it matters not. When those desires are on the paper, they are like that seedling that has just been watered. Having desires, notions to progress life in a positive way is healthy for the mind. It could be used as a technique to improve one’s mediumship.
I’d like to finish my words to you and your audience with a simple instruction. Every morning, take a few moments to reflect on what it is you desire out of the day ahead. What desires have you that would assist your progress?
It is simple exercises such as this that feed the mind, fuel the journey ahead, and waken the driving forces within.
God is with you now and always. He desires to be.
Goodbye.

MY AFTERTHOUGHTS
written & updated for this presentation
🔷 Quite an opening statement. I found myself wondering if the speaker was referring to domestic animals. They have become dependent on humans and are known to be unable to survive for long without our intervention. Surely animals in the wild are exercising desire when they feel hunger?
🔷 Nowadays, I’m impressed with how many mainstream mediums strongly desire to improve their abilities through educational outlets, such as The Arthur Findlay College. This displays their determination to improve their understanding of their chosen interests. Their desire to be better at what they do.
🔷 The session ends with the speaker suggesting we should spend time to write our desires down on paper. I like the principle, though, like most people, I probably wouldn’t do it frequently enough, nor would I take the necessary action to make those desires become a reality. Perhaps I should take the speaker’s advice.
“Nothing was ever achieved by mankind that didn’t start first as a desire.“
