I am aware that I could be accused of making light of the difficulties mediums face when trying to connect to the spirit world.
According to many of the sentiments I’ve shared throughout this website, communicating with the afterlife is relatively straightforward. Am I over-simplifying this miraculous phenomenon, and for what reasons?
As a medium, I like to deal with facts and evidence. There are many knowns and equally as many unknowns when it comes to understanding psychic work. One known fact is that some mediums, though not all, are born with an enhanced gift for communicating with the spirit world. From an early age, this ability is known and the person’s life becomes shaped by the gift, as it is often called. But some mediums, such as I am, will be drawn to this work later in life. We’ve more work to do to be as efficient as the naturally gifted medium. But with dedication and learning, the gift can be developed and honed.
Each medium has their own unique mix of emotions and characteristics that make up who they are. Some are more open-minded than others, some are more willing to learn, some are, like I was, hard work to teach. A tutor once told me that the spirit people will work with those who are listening. I believe that. Everyone has people around them in the spirit world willing to work with them, but not everyone is open or listening.
Based on my experience, I believe that hearing and communicating with the spirit world is not hard. People cause difficulties by not creating and developing the correct conditions for successful communications to happen. The actual connection works within a specific set of conditions that need to be established through experience and learning by the medium. This is why we need expert tutors to work with students. The more the student is willing to learn, the greater their abilities will unfold.
The actual communication process is easy once the conditions are established. However, creating those conditions may take some students longer to establish than others. As each student practises, unfolds and establishes methods that work for them, the spirit people working with them adapt, adopt and attempt ways to pass successful communications.
So yes, I believe communication with the spirit world is easy. It’s the conditions that need to be in place that matter.

It is always people that place the obstacles between them and working with the spirit world. The most common obstacle is disbelief, while the most important ingredient is trust.

Good afternoon. My commendation to you for the article you've just finished about Susan and Jon. Nicely worded and balanced. I wasn't much for writing when I was alive on earth. I wished I'd taken time to do it. It's one of those regrets that your story talks about. Doing things now you have the chance on earth.
But there is one other sentiment that your article touches on, that I'd like to talk a little about. It's regarding the way we often struggle to be heard by people on earth who are well capable of hearing us, but don't.
As you've mentioned yourself on more than one occasion, there really is no great mystery to communication between our two worlds. It could be a whole lot easier, if It weren't for the barricades that people choose to put in the way.
More often than one would consider, we try every which way to get a message to someone only to have it ignored, blocked, refused, or simply left unheard. Do people not realise that we want to communicate with them? It would give us so much joy to be heard or to be given a voice more often than happens.
Take Susan as an example. Her helpers this side tried so hard to be acknowledged by Jon and other members of the extended family. Signs were sent that were so obviously from us. Not only to Jon, but three other people that Susan thought might receive the messages.
Yes she was frustrated. But she was relieved when Jon did start to take notice. It happens all the time. Messages fall on deaf ears. We often joke that if we did have a phone that could work between our two worlds, many people would still not believe us!
This is why the role of mediums on earth, and here, is so important. Actually, more than important - vital.
I'll confess that many of the mediums, including yourself at times, could be a lot more open in relaying our messages without needing to modify them all the time.
We know, and you know, its not yet an exact science, but it could be. If only we were heard more, and if only the mediums became more eager to improve their abilities.
Anyway, that really sums up everything I wanted to share with you today. Let me finish by thanking all the mediums, your side and this, for all the wonderful work they do. Our worlds are closer for it and will only get closer with time.

This session acts as a validation of something I’ve come to realise as a medium moreso as my own unfoldment continues. The speaker makes it clear that it is us that blocks the communications between the two worlds.
The opening reference to Jon and Sue is appreciated. The story is a personal one that I have loosely documented in this website, suffice to say, it was a miraculous way that spirit can and do work with us.
I stand by my opening preamble that I believe communicating with the afterlife is easy. But this speaker makes no mention of the conditions required, which does take time to create.
The sentiments shared by this speaker serve to remind all mediums that there’s no great mystery to communicating with this invisible world, and that we should embrace every opportunity to fine-tune our individual abilities.

I absolutely agree, that we mediums actually have no business modifying messages. I am sure we put a slant on it, that is normal, but the true meaning of the message must be put across.
