THE PREAMBLE

This is the nineenth of the seventh series of Lanzarote Sessions, transcribed during a break to the Canary Islands in September 2024. During our frequent visits, I sit in the power of the spirit at least once every day and allow the spirit connect to share a message with me.

|| This summary written on 18th February 2025

Sometimes, we should be grateful that those in the spirit world want to share a few helpful words with us. Everything doesn’t have to be earth-shattering or life-changing in meaning.

I’ve shared this story before, but I feel it’s worth repeating. I always carried a notebook in my jacket pocket when I went to my local spiritualist churches. My reason for attending these churches was to listen and learn. I wasn’t bothered too much about getting a message from the visiting medium. When I did, I usually found them to be hit-and-miss!

It was the philosophy I enjoyed most; this is where my notebook usually paid off. Sadly, not all the mediums were able to deliver anything philosophical. Some chose to write quotes or poems from a book, believing the chosen piece to be apt. I hated that approach. My tutors always taught me that speaking from the heart, with passion and trust in spirit, would reach more people.

I recall enjoying it when I visited Bournemouth Spiritualist Church, especially when The Potts brothers ran the service. The philosophy they delivered was always from the heart, without notes and yet fluent and meaningful. I would take many notes during their addresses. Over the years, I acquired a nice collection of anecdotes and words of wisdom that today, are part of my personal collection that I browse through from time to time.

Today’s speaker appears to have had a similar habit when he or she was living on earth. The message in their words today are simple, yet meaningful and worthy of taking note of.

When I used to run a development circle at my home, I gave all students new notebooks when they began. Of the eight students, only one ever asked me if she could take her notebook home after each evening ended. Maybe I read too much into that small statement, but it impressed me. She was the student who was advancing quicker than the others.

THE SPIRIT INSIGHT

transcribed on Wednesday, 2nd October 2024 at 4:20 pm

Good afternoon sir. I have been invited to share some words of wisdom with you this session. I’ve been told also to keep you on track! You must only write what I say, or very close, or I must tell you to change it. Apparently you are okay with this tool and don’t need correcting very often. We’ll see!

Do you think the word ‘wisdom’ , when used for a collective phrase, should be considered fancy words? Or should the words of wisdom be taken as advice to use in your own journey of life?

We have noticed that when people from our world share our words of wisdom with people like you that can relay them, generally people dismiss them, treating them somewhat as ‘not for them!

When I was living your side, like you, I was a medium and always willing to learn. Yes sorry, I missed a line out there, thank you for erasing it. I was meaning to say, I was so keen, I had a notebook that was given me one Christmas. I wrote on the cover, “my learned words of wisdom rules book”

I made it my purpose every day to write at least one sentence of wisdom I had learned that day. I acted upon those entries as often as I could. Over my time, I collected many hundreds of pearls I’d learnt from others. I have the book here with me now. No, don’t waste mind energy thinking about how it came to be here, that is for another day.

May I share a few of my wisdom entries?
This first one, I wrote in 1963 after watching a medium at a local church. I wrote:

“Always appear smart and presentable to be taken serious”

The medium that night was in a suit and everyone had huge respect for him. I liked that dress code and adopted into my work. Here’s another random wisdom entry from my collection. This one I wrote in May 1969

“Do as you say to others do”.

I know it’s short, but I copied it from a book. Perhaps with your modern technology, you might find out what book it was from. I wrote it because I had become annoyed at other people telling me what I should do to live a spiritual life, but knew they weren’t acting on their own words.

Heres another one from a few pages before that one. I wrote this in February 1969.

“Let not thy tongue be your downfall”

Again, I learned that some people I’d thought as wise, weren’t acting that way, away from the public persona.

My friend, I loved this book. It was my most prized possession. I would only request to share one piece of wisdom with you today:-

” Learning is acting upon, doing, and living by.”

Does that make sense? Consider what I have taught you this day and consider how you could bring this wisdom into you learning path.

My name was and still is George. I’ve enjoyed sharing my words with you today. Go forward with your work and make a difference.

I send you healing for your temporary infection.

Goodbye.

MY AFTERTHOUGHTS

written at the time of this presentation

🔷  I can assure you that I make great effort to keep my own mind out of the words spoken by the guest speaker. It is mere coincidence that I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiments of their message. It’s something I am always ‘banging’ on about. This is one of the ways I judge how seriously a student takes their learning. Nowadays, I’m so glad I took this approach with my learning and notetaking.

🔷  The speaker lets a little secret slip in the middle of their conversation, referring to their own notebook they had when they were alive and which is with them now. How interesting is that possibility? A physical object moved to the spirit world. Perhaps not as surprising as it might appear.

🔷 I did a check online for the precise wording of the phrase that the speaker quoted. Of course, similar wording phrases are commonly called ‘The Golden Rule’ and can be found in several variations in the Bible. I like the way this phrase is angled slightly differently, suggesting that to talk the talk, one must first walk the walk. Now, there is a lesson many people could benefit from practising!

“Do as you say to others do.”

  1. From your No one knows everything session:
The wonder of a continuing life is enough for me, I can tell you. I’ve never had enough understanding of such matters to be able to explain them properly. For example, everything in my world continues to be solid to the touch. I see everything as I did on earth. Yes, these things are brighter and different, but I have no idea how to explain to you, or anyone else on earth, why or how the existence of physical objects continue to exist in our world and yet remain invisible to you. I am not a font of all knowledge. Nor are many of my friends here.
