Struck down Again

For the third time this year, I’ve been struck down again with a horrid chest infection. Ironically, the previous two infections all came on when away from home.

The old doctor joke comes to mind:

Patient: “Doctor, it hurts when I press here.”

Doctor: “Well, don’t press there then!

My chest infections have all happened in Lanzarote! Whether it’s the change from a damp and miserable Wigan to a clean and fresh Lanzarote atmosphere, who only knows? A week ago I started to feel it and every day it has got progressively worse. At one point yesterday, in my mind, I just wanted to be at home.

I did listen to one of the speakers in the new Lanzarote Sessions series 7, who, a few days ago, told me why I should be self-healing for a while. So I did spend some time yesterday encouraging the life-giving healing energy into my chest. During the day, I noticed the improvements and by last night I felt a lot better. I didn’t quite get an undisturbed night’s sleep, but it was a better one.

This morning, I took a walk around Playa Blanca port and did some filming before returning to our apartment, a short walk away. I was out of breath and sweaty when I got back, but other than that, I was much better. I have an irritating dry cough now as the residue from the infection.

Whilst here, Jane has booked two more stays here for next year. We’re back in December, March, and May now, so exciting times for the writing side of things!

I had hoped to get a lot more work done than I have, but I can only do what I can do. So when I get back home, I’ll have to put in some overtime on this website. This afternoon, I hope to prepare another of the sixth series for the WFSIW section. I also have some draft notes for an article for the TIS section.

Today, I’m going to find out what the question was that was sent in for me to put to spirit. That sitting will be later this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the temperature is near 30 degrees celsius, it’s wall-to-wall sunshine and I’m nicely positioned at my temporary desk in the shade of the lounge, overlooking the port and sea. Living the Dweem!

"Introverts are not shy; they're picky. Yes, they talk and can talk a lot. But not with neighbours, cashiers, colleagues or on social media. They hate small talk. It drains them and empties their soul. Instead, they pick one or two other people to share their life with. That's it, they're done!"
