The Richard Newall Recordings

9 June 1955 - 12 June 2025

Richard Newall passed to the spirit world in June 2025 at the age of 70. A kind and smiling gentleman, loved by so many Spiritualists, for both his beautiful music, his listening ears and comforting words. I met Richard several times while attending The Arthur Findlay College and knew he had a powerful story waiting to be heard. So, in 2022, after begging him to agree, Richard spent several hours with me on Zoom sharing his incredible story with me and the listeners. Being a naturally humble and private man, this was a special few hours for me. Memories and his music will live on for years to come.

The following words were taken from his obituary and say so much about the man.

A gifted musician, Richard didn’t just play music he made it, lived it, and shared it. Whether strumming a guitar or jamming with friends, his melodies told stories that words couldn’t always capture. And when he wasn’t making music, he was likely fishing or mowing the lawn or taking drives with Annie. the only time he truly enjoyed peace and quiet.

Richard’s humour was legendary: sharp, dry, and perfectly timed. He could make you laugh when you least expected it and often when you probably shouldn’t. He was a straight-talker, a softie in disguise, and a friend to many the kind of person who made life a bit brighter just by being in the room.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and songs still echoing in the hearts of those lucky enough to know him.

Rest easy, Richard/Dad the world’s a little quieter without you, but your tune plays on.

Richard granted me permission to include his music tracks with the podcast recordings.
